Why Two? The difference between the Old and New Testament.

Why Two?
Introduction

This will be a teaching that will bring many of our preconceived ideas regarding the Old Testament and its relationship to the New Testament into question. I ask you to keep an open mind as I walk through with you the meaning, and the purpose of this theme. I want to ask you if the Old Testament was sufficient why did Father God need to create the New Testament?

Many people want to continue to live in the Old Testament. Don’t get me wrong I know that the Old Testament is the word of God, but its purpose was presented for many different reasons. In the Old Testament, there was a priesthood, a place of worship and rules of worship. in the Old Testament, there were no born-again Christians. In the Old Testament, God did not dwell within his people. In the Old Testament, there are no new creations as it states in the New Testament. It was a partial truth of the earthly life and mission of the Messiah Christ Jesus. Remember that scripture is progressive in nature up to the coming of Jesus and His redemptive work on calvary.
We must understand that the old man ends with the cross and the new man begins with the resurrection of Christ. It says in the scripture “if any man is in Christ he is a new creature old things are passed away and behold they are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17. The cross terminates the first creation and out of death there’s brought a new creation in Christ the born-again person. I truly believe we don’t understand the new creation. In the Old Testament you will never find anyone born again. In the Old Testament you’ll never find anyone where God dwells within them. In the Old Testament man had to go to the temple to communicate with God. In the New Testament God is within us. We are His temple. We communicate with Him through our spirit.

If we are in Christ then Christ comes to us by free grace without any effort on our part but is built on the solid ground a simple faith. How does this become real in our experience. This is the essence of this teaching. Recognizing who we are in Christ. Understanding that our old man is dead and we are new in Christ. Abiding in Him is realizing that God has done the work in Christ and not in us. And the all-inclusive death of Adam there is the all-inclusive resurrection in Christ.
Many people want to live in the Old Testament. The Old Testament was a tutor pointing Israel to the coming Messiah. God‘s laws were written on stone in the Old Testament and the New Testament his laws are written upon our heart. The New Testament does what the Old Testament could not do. The Old Testament showed men their sins but there was no power to overcome them because Christ had not died and resurrected yet.

Why don’t we see the teachings and the themes presented in the epistles in the Old Testament or the gospels? The reason is once again that the epistles were written to the new creation church. There are no new creations,’ born-again people in the Old Testament. There were no born-again people presented in the gospels. In fact, we found that even those who closely followed Jesus did not understand His purpose. They did not understand his plan of redemption, nor the reason why he had to be crucified. It was not until the end of gospel of Matthew that Peter had the revelation from the Holy Spirit When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, but who say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. Matt. 16:13-20. So, when was this complete. It was not until the completed work of Jesus on Calvary with His death, descension into hell, His resurrection and glorification. Now He is seated at the right hand of Father God and scripture stated we are seated with Him. And all power is given us to us as His church. We are the eyes, mouth, hands, and feet on our Lord Jesus on earth.

Father God revealing His Son, Christ Jesus in the Gospels!
We can see even in the gospels we see God the Father pointing to Jesus.
In Matt. 17:1-7, “Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses (The Law), and one for Elijah (The Prophets). “While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”

Also, our Lord said that in the hearing of the scripture that he quoted was completed. In Luke 4:21, “He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Jesus stated do not think I have come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law. What do you mean fulfill the law? Fulfillment of the law was to complete what it could not do. The Law only showed man his sinfulness but did not give him the power to overcome sin and its dominion. In His death and resurrection not only did Jesus pay the ultimate price of his death but He created a new race that never existed on the face of the earth before these are called Born Again Christians. The New Testament church should live in the epistles. You do not see in the gospels the biblical truths as stated in the epistles. The Gospels narrate the life and history of Jesus but not of the resurrected church. That is clearly expressed in the Epistles. This is why the epistles were written. It was and is written to the Resurrected Church. To those who are born again! In 1 Cor. 15:45, “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam (Jesus) became a life-giving spirit. His words are spirit and life. Romans 8:29. Jesus is the first begotten of many brethren.

Father God speaks through His Son Jesus Christ
God, who at various times and in various ways (many different glimpses of the truth) spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets in the words of the prophets) , has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Heb. 1:1-4.

The Old Testament vs. the New Testament
For this reason, Christ ·brings a new agreement from God to his people [L is the mediator of a new covenant/contract]. Those who are called by God can now receive the eternal ·blessings [inheritance] he has promised. They can have those things because Christ died to ·set them free [redeem them] from the ·sins [transgressions; violations] committed under the first agreement [covenant; contract]. Heb. 9:15
God called this a new ·agreement [covenant; contract], so he has made ·the first agreement [the first one] ·old [obsolete; outdated]. And anything that is ·old [obsolete; outdated] and worn out is ready to disappear. Heb. 8:13

Then He (Jesus) said, “Here I am, O God, to do your will.” So, God does away with all the old sacrifices and puts the sacrifice of Christ in their place. Heb. 10:9
[ For] Christ did not go into ·the Most Holy Place [a sanctuary; holy things] made by ·humans [ hands], which is only a copy [model; or prefiguration] of the real one. He went into heaven itself and is there [appears] now ·before [in the presence of] God to help us [for us; on our behalf]. The high priest enters the ·Most Holy Place [sanctuary; holy things;  Holy of Holies] once every year with blood that is not his own. But Christ did not offer himself many times. Then [Otherwise; In such a case,] he would have had to suffer many times ·since the world was made [from the foundation/creation of the world]. But Christ came [appeared] ·only once and for all time [once for all; 7:27; 9:12, 26; 10:10] at the end [culmination; climax] of the present age [time; the ages] to ·take away all [nullify; abolish] sin by sacrificing Himself. Heb. 9:24-26.

Once Dead-Now Alive!
This is a very important time to understand that the people in the Old Testament were spiritually dead. There was no one born again. This is a New Testament action because Christ redemptive work on Calvary was not performed yet.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Eph. 2:1-6

To you, who were spiritually dead all the time that you drifted along on the stream of this world’s ideas of living, and obeyed its unseen ruler (who is still operating in those who do not respond to the truth of God), to you Christ has given life! We all lived like that in the past, and followed the impulses and imaginations of our evil nature, being in fact under the wrath of God by nature, like everyone else. But even though we were dead in our sins God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, gave us life together with Christ—it is, remember, by grace and not by achievement that you are saved—and has lifted us right out of the old life to take our place with him in Christ in the Heavens. Thus, he shows for all time the tremendous generosity of the grace and kindness he has expressed towards us in Christ Jesus. It was nothing you could or did achieve—it was God’s gift to you. No one can pride himself upon earning the love of God. The fact is that what we are we owe to the hand of God upon us. We are born afresh in Christ, and born to do those good deeds which God planned for us to do. Phillips NT

And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins. In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God’s] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind. But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved ([a]delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation). And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Amplified Version.

Benefits of the New Testament

Seated with Christ
“And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Eph. 2:6-9. The word SIT reveals his secrets of having a heavenly life. We can associate the word Sit means to Rest. What is the place of rest? What is a place of rest? To some it might be partying. To some it might be going to Vegas. To others it might be going a long trip. What does God mean by a place of rest? God wants us to have an abundant life without the chains that bind us. God rests is not struggling with the pressures of life that comes to all of us. Gods rest is long life in Him. God’s rest is healing, deliverance, lack or worry, peaceful and happy marriages. To be friends and enjoys each other’s company. Our rest is built on Jesus and His Word. Not just hearers but doers.

Christianity is not begin with walking it begins with sitting. It states in Hebrews 1.3 that Jesus Christ who made purification of our sins SAT down at the right hand of the Father. Equally understanding that our individual Christian life hidden in Christ is by faith and we also are seated together with Him in the heavens. Christianity does not begin with a big DO but with a big DONE. The Christian life from start to finish is based upon the principle of utter dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ and His work at Calvary.

In other words, our life, our load, our future, our everything depends on the Lord not ourselves. Our Christian life totally depends on the finished work of Christ. Our Christian life starts when we understand what Father God provided for us in Christ Jesus.

Free From the Law!
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.” Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Gal. 3:10-14.
• What was the curse? Poverty, sickness, and spiritual death. Deut. 28:15-45.
• Why do some people still not walk in victory? Disobedience and lack of faith.
Who We Are in Jesus
• In Him we live, move, and have our being. Acts 17:28.
• We are His workmanship created in Christ. Eph. 2:10.
• He became sin for us, who knew no sin that we become the righteousness of God IN HIM. 2 Cor. 5:21.
• Therefore, there is no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus. James. 5:16.
• But we are in Christ Jesus made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption. I Cor. 1:30.
• In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Eph. 1:7.
• Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear son. In whom we have redemption through His blood even the
forgiveness of sins. Col. 1:13-14.

Hold Fast!
We must learn to speak success and not failure. We must understand that when we “keep our tongue for the negative confession we keep our life from problems affecting us.” Proverbs 21.23. When we don’t speak of positive confessions “we are snared taken captive by the words of her own mouth.” Proverbs 6.2. It says it that we are either justified or condemned by what we speak. Matthews 12:37. Remember that which is not of faith is sin. Rom. 14:23
Why does scripture tell us to hold fast? True belief or doubts is shown by the way in which one thinks, speaks and lives. To swerve from this would be to wander off the path to the right or the left into some error or contradiction. It is because we have an enemy Satan who will fight you every step of the way. That is his job and he is very good at it.
When Things Get Hard Speak unto that Mountain!
Problems come to all of us but unless your house is built on solid foundation it will not survive. We are called overcomers by the word of our testimony. Our words and lives must consistently declare the word of God.
• We need to declare that we are a new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17

• We need to declare that we are the righteousness of God 2 Corinthians 5:21

• We need to declare that we have been set free from the bondages of hell. Colossians 1:12–14

• We need to declare that we are not inferior or failure or frustrated. 2 Timothy 1:7

• We need declare that we redeemed from the curse of the law and we are not bound by sin sickness or spiritual death. Gal. 3: 10-14

• We need to declare that we are prosperous and have good success. Joshua 1:8.

• And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because
of[a] his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11

Believe, Speak and Act!

Believe, Speak and Act!

Introduction.

Faith is an action. Faith is Now! Faith says, I receive the answer right now. I know I have it is not hope that they get the job done it is believing that it’s done. People have said to me I believe that someday I will have my healing, that’s not faith it’s hope because it is looking to something indefinite, the future time. Faith says I have received my healing now in a modern translation of the New Testament says in Hebrews 11:1 “faith is giving substance to things hope for.” Faith is now Hope is the future. If you need healing, you don’t want it in the future you want right now especially if you’re in pain. If you’re seeking the baptism in the Holy Spirit you want to receive Him now not sometime in the future. If you need salvation you cannot put it off to the future that might be too late you need it now.

Believe, Speak, Act

This is an example of a women who suffered many years with her illness. Her faith made her whole. Not the faith of Jesus or the apostles. It was her faith that made her believe in the message of Jesus. Speak the word of faith and then she acted on what she said.

A large crowd followed and pressed around him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Mark 5:25-34 (KJV)

Word of God
The Lord God confirms His word with signs and wonders.

As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. Matthew 10: 7-8 (KJV)

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27 (KJV).

Obstacles to Growing in Faith.

We are to walk by faith not by our five senses. Our carnal mind (five senses) will always resist God. Satan uses our five senses to confuse and deceive us from following and holding on to God’s word.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh (controlled by our five senses), but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded (controlled by our five senses) is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. Rom. 8:5-7 (KJV)
Listen to teachings on the Battle of the Mind, Think on Purpose, Words Have Power.

Work to Rest!

The work comes from us resting in the word of God. The enemy will hit you time and again to frustrate and confuse you regarding the written Word spoken by God.

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:11 (KJV)
• How do we Work to enter into Rest (peace of God)? By believing and resting in His Word. Rejecting all that is false. Renew our speech, Walk according to the Law of Love & Obedience. Rom. 12:1-2. (KJV)

How you THINK, will determine how you will SPEAK. And how you speak will determine how you will LIVE.

Battle of the Mind!

Battle of the Mind
Introduction
Many people don’t understand that there’s a constant battle to occupy your mind. God is giving us a tremendous gift of choosing of whom we will hear and obey. As God speaks to his people to accomplish great things the enemy speaks to his people to kill, steal and destroy. Satan also speaks to the children of God to confuse them and twist the truth that they have learned. Let us look at what the word of God says and how to win the battle of the mind.

Renew Your Mind
This is a constant on-going battle to keep your mind on God.

Rom. 12: 1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2 Cor. 10: 3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith
You must use the Word of God to speak again the evil one.

I John 4: 4
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
I Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Use the Word of God
The Word of God is your weapon to stand strong against the enemy.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
James 4:7-9
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (The devil will run from us in terror). You resist with the confession of your mouth!
I Peter 5:8-9
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Who resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Remember how you THINK, is how you will Speak. And how you speak is how you will LIVE!

The Cross Kills!

The Cross Kills!
Rom. 6:7
For when we died with Christ, we were set free from the power of sin.

Talk about positional and progressive sanctification. Romans 6:7 speaks about positional sanctification being free from sin and made right with God. And progressive sanctification talks about striving to live a holy life.

I have a book in my library that I have been reading by F.J. Huegel called “Bone of His Bone”. He states the following…” The Cross Kills. The man who exposes himself to Calvary soon discovers that a hidden fire burns within his bones. The old “self-life,” so resentful, so fussy, so greedy, and so touchy, so haughty and so vain, so blind to all save its own particular lust, so ready to sacrifice the good of the many if only its own glory may be secured — the old “self-life” can no longer resist the impact of Calvary”.

As you know several years ago, I went through a very difficult surgery to correct a blockage of a much-enlarged prostate. I did not know that the poison I had running through my body was killing me little by little and my body was shutting down. I was asking the Lord why this is taking place at this time in my life when I have so much to do. I feel that He stated the following. I was not taking care of myself in regard to my annual medical check-ups so I was not aware of the problem until it was too late. Reflecting upon this I think that this is how sin works in our life when we don’t stay close to the Lord. We overlook many things that can ultimately be deadly to us. We allow those favorite sins to creep into our lives little by little until it has a strangled hold on us and can’t get away.

What are those things in your life that we find it hard to surrender to the Cross? It is lying, cheating, gambling, stealing, and taking advantage of others, lust, speaking badly about others, or criticizing? To us they may look somewhat innocent but in the long run they are our death. Sin has power. When we let it in little by little it is killing us, and we aren’t even aware of its strangled hold on us. But the GOOD NEWS is that Christ has broken the power of sin over us if we let Him. But we must be sick of our sin and turn our back on it understand that God has set us free!

What is killing you little by little?

Are you under the blood?

Are you under the blood?
And they shall take the blood, and strike it on the two sides posts and the upper door post of the houses…
And the blood will be to you a token upon the houses where you are and when I see the blood, I will pass over you and the plague shall not come upon you to destroy you…
Exodus 12: 7, 12.

Many people are running around full of fear because of this new plague. I remember when we were living In Mexico the swine flu broke out across the world. People were running around very frightened buying masks and buying extra provisions.

And at that time, we were pastoring a small church from our home of about 12 people. I taught how God had redeemed us from the curse of the law which included sickness. In Colossians 1:13-14 Father God delivered us (past tense) from the power of darkness and translated us in the kingdom of His dear son Jesus. And that have we have redemption (salvation) through the blood of Jesus.

The word salvation in Greek also means deliverance, healing, completeness, and wholeness. Everything you need is found in Jesus. For those who have the Word of God firmly planted within their hearts should not fear. Fear is not of God. Fear is of the enemy. To fear, is to sin. The Epistle of Romans 14:23 says that whatever is not of faith is sin. Do not be afraid. Get under the blood. Give your life to Christ Jesus. When you do that, He has redeemed you from all the works of the enemy.

The Lord Jesus Christ will never leave you nor for sake you. Don’t believe those who say this is of God. This is not of God we are under a new covenant. We are in the New Testament. Christ went about doing good and healing all those who are oppressed of the devil.

Are you under the blood? If you are, you have nothing to fear!

Testimony of Sy-From Prison to Praise!!!

Sy, Dr. Emerick and Sister Claudia. Nov. 25th, 2022.

Good afternoon to everyone. My name is Sy and I was an inmate at the Lancaster prison. I attended the Sunday teaching and worship services with Dr. Timothy Emerick and his wife Claudia this has been a tremendous time of teaching for me and I’m going in the Lord.
I grew up in a very violent home, and I committed many criminal acts from a young age. I was either drinking alcohol, or using drugs. At one time, my life became so uncontrollable that my father and I were involved in a very intense and heated argument, and he ended up shooting me in the leg. The picture that you see me on crutches is because they had to amputate my leg. I hated my father for this. My life became worse and I got involved in more criminal acts.
In 2018, I was sentenced to 50 years to life. When I found this out, I just wanted to die. This was my darkest hour of my life. I just wanted to die. However, God in His mercy and love reached down into the pit where I was living and I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ who helped me turn my life around.
The Lord performed a miracle and I was released on November 11th of 2022. I was taken to court in Fresno California, with the clothes on my back and my wheelchair. They released me from court with time served and put me for a period of probation, I had no money and nowhere to go. I was out on the streets, not knowing what to do. But before I went to court, I asked Dr. Emerick for his business card. I called him that very moment when I got out of court, but he didn’t answer. I called again the following day and he answered and he took time to calm me down and prayed with me. He and sister Claudia sent that very moment through Western Union $300. I am so grateful for the ministry of Dr. Emerick and his wife Claudia the picture you see is myself and Dr. Emerick and Claudia standing in front of the temporary housing that the Lord helped me to find.
On the date of this picture taken Dr. Emerick picked up my possessions from Lancaster State Prison and he and his wife took them to me in Fresno California, which is about three hours from him. I am eternally grateful to them and many others who have helped me.

Please pray for me and others who reach out to God despite being lost and discarded. When we need help Father God will send few a angels 😇 to you to help, support, and encouragement. God showed me His love and mercy through “Dr Emerick and his wife Claudia, Mr. & Mrs. Timothy and Andrea Powell for the crutches they donated, Paws for Life K-9 Rescue Family, Jon, Chris, Tommy just to name a few.

God will never forget us. We are the apple of his eye!

Recognizing, Understanding, Abiding

Recognizing, Understanding, Abiding

Introduction
We must understand that the old man ends with the cross and the new man begins with the resurrection of Christ. It says in the scripture if any man is in Christ he is a new creature old things are passed away and behold they are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. The cross terminates the first creation and out of death there’s brought a new creation in Christ the second man.
Even in the gospels we see God the Father pointing to Jesus even our Lord said that in the hearing of the scripture that he quoted was completed. In Luke 4:21, “He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Jesus stated do not think I have come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law. What do you mean fulfill the law? In His death and resurrection not only did Jesus pay the ultimate price of his death but he created a new race that never existed on the face of the earth before these are called born again Christians. The New Testament church should live in the epistles. You do not see in the gospels the biblical truths as stated in the epistles.
In 1 Cor. 15:45, “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. His words are spirit and life.

Recognizing/ Knowing

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, [reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 6:1-11
• You must grasp that your sins have been forgiven. We are in Christ and He is in us. There is no condemnation in Christ.
• You live a resurrected life because to you resurrected with Christ.
• The finished work of Christ has gone to the root of our problem and dealt with it. He made full provision for sins rule to be utterly broken. Paul stated in Romans 6:6 “knowing this that our old man was crucified with him that the body of sin might be done away with so we should no longer be bondage to sin.”
Do you know this?

Understanding/Reckoning/Identifying

The next topic is called the Path of Progress. This path will develop as we understand/reckon/identify ourselves with what the word of God states. The apostle Paul in Romans 6:6 again stated, “knowing this, that her old man was crucified with Him.” Look at the verb structure was crucified. The problem is not many people know this that knowing is preceded reckoning. A reckoning must be based on knowledge of divinely revealed facts because without faith there’s no foundation. Once we truly understand then we take it onto ourselves. Reckoning becomes a reality because we not only identify with it but it becomes part of us.
What does Reckoning mean? Reckoning in Greek means doing or keeping accounts like book-keeping. Reckoning is not a fairy tale or myth or make-believe. Reckoning is a divine command from our Lord and Savior that the sacrifice of Christ was sufficient on all levels. “Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 6:11.

How is this possible?

Our Christian life is to be lived progressively by faith applying His word to our lives. The Devil main object is always to doubt the divine fact stated in God’s Word. We must understand that we are not saying that our sinful nature is rooted out or removed. To say such would be false doctrine. Sin the old master is still about but the slave who served him is dead and no longer ruling. The gambler is no longer gambling. The alcoholic is no longer addicted. Addictions are overcome and lives are changed. Our members are no longer used for unrighteousness but for righteousness.
This deliverance is so real in our lives because the new birth, the new creation and its nature is no longer practicing a sinful life. I Jn. 3:9. So how do we keep this behavior going?
We must believe that God’s Word id true. Jn. 17:17. So we can see it is an act of choice. We must choose whom we will serve.
We must not resort to our sense-knowledge to discover the truth. We must resist and reject anything the contradicts God’s word. (Sense Knowledge versus Revelation Knowledge)

Abiding

Once again we must understand that we were crucified with Him and raised with Him. We do not look for ourselves but we look for the Lord Jesus Christ is our Savior and King. We are very familiar with the words of the Lord Jesus who said abide in me and I and you. We are not told to get there, we are there; but we are told to stay where we have been placed. It was God‘s own who put us in Christ and we are to abide in him.
We are not told to associate with him. The scripture say that we were quickened, raised, and set apart by God in the heavenly‘s with Him and that we are complete in Him.

“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be [a]done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” Rom. 6:6

“even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” Eph. 2:5-6

“and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Col. 2:10

The scriptures state that this has been done for us in Jesus. This is the legal side of Father God. It is done. It is not going to be done. It has been completed. Jesus is the foundation for every point of a journey with Him. We know what God has done on his side the legal side but is another thing to experience it on our side. This is called experimental knowledge. Our spiritual history is concerned with the journey but we must not be stuck there. We can allow it to dominate our thinking. God has done all and his son, and he has included us in him; we are incorporated into Christ.

How does this come about? We confess what God says who and what we have in Jesus. Doing this makes room for His resurrection power to work in us and through us. As we stand fast in what the Word of God says it become experiential true in us. So, in our walk with Him our attention is fixed on Him on Him.

Faith makes the objective facts (Legal Facts) on Father God’s side makes those facts true subjectively (Experiential) for us and is us and we walk in faith and not by our five senses.

No solo oyentes sino hacedores.

James- Inmate in Lancaster State Prison. From Prison to Praise!

James. Inmate at Lancaster Prison
GOD IS WITH US

There is not a more comforting feeling in the world than knowing that I have a relationship with the Father God-Yahweh through His Son and my Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. I am going to spend eternity in Heaven! Can you image what that will be like? I try, but then I am reminded by I Corinthians 2:9. “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor entered into the hearts of man the things that God has prepared for those that love him.”
My testimony may not be so different from anyone else that has experienced the overwhelming joy of receiving Christ into their life as Savior. Yet like other Christians, there is a time order of events that led up to that moment, which I’d like to share with you. I’ll try to be brief as not to lose your interest.
I was adopted by wonderful parents at two weeks old. My father was an Air Force pilot, my mother a schoolteacher. They met while attending Washington University-Huskies! I also have a brother and two sisters who are incredible as well, but I am the only adopted child. My parents adopted me shortly after their baby was still born upon delivery. My mom Joan told me that she flat lined during the delivery for almost a minute due to the loss of blood. She explained having an out of body experience, during those moments watching doctors and nurses frantically trying to resuscitate her, as her spirit drifted above the chaos of medical staff trying to do everything within their medical expertise to revive her.
My mom recalls immediately finding herself in the presence of an overwhelmingly joyous light whom she believed to be the Almighty God. She said the peace she felt in God’s presence surpassed any she could have ever imagined. Then, just as quickly she found herself looking up at the frenetic faces of hospital staff trying to resuscitate her-and then their celebrating upon her return to life. I share my mom’s personal experience because it is one of my earliest memories of learning about God’s Glory at work. I have never forgotten the sharing of her enlightening encounter with God and believed that someday I too would have a life changing experience with the Lord God.
I fast forward my life to when I was just twelve years old. My brother Mike, friend Clark, and myself were returning home from a morning surf session at Zuma Beach. I had just experienced my first tube-ride (When a surfer pulls entirely inside of the curl of the wave) along with the high-pitched whirling sound of the wave’s energy as I had encased myself inside the barrel of the wave. It was exhilarating! So, on the ride home I was entirely in a state of stoke. When out-of-the-blue, I hear a voice, other than the other occupants in the vehicle say, “James, when are you going to come serve me?” I looked at Mike and Clark wondering if they also had heard the voice but there was no verification in their non-verbal’s. I could barely believe what I was hearing but knew it was God’s voice, even though it was the first time I had ever heard it. While somewhat in a state of shock and unsure how Clark sitting next to me would react, I turned toward the door, closed my eyes, and prayed. “God, I promise you that someday I will come serve you.” I was startled by this experience but it made me feel very special that the Creator of the universe was calling upon me!
Fast forwarding again to when I was nineteen years of age. My lovely newlywed wife Michelle and I were on our return drive home from having just eloped to Washington State’s Lake Tapp’s. We were driving through the majestic Shasta Mountains on the narrow two-lane highway when suddenly the car veered left as if the front left tire went flat. I pulled off into an emergency area on the side of the highway and stepped out of the red 76 Buick, with the primer red driver’s side, to investigate. As I looked down at the front driver’s side wheel awkwardly tilted toward me, and the wheels bearings laying in the dirt at its base. I immediately began thinking of the $60.00 in my pocket, just enough money for the gas to get us back to So-Cal. I thought to myself, what am I going to do to get us home safely? I then heard my bride Michelle singing and praising God, so I looked into the car and explained, “Honey, all the bearings have fallen out of the front wheel and we don’t have enough money for a tow-truck or to have it repaired.” She continued with her praise, so I decided the only thing I could do would be to nurse the car along the shoulder eight miles back to the town of Shasta where I’d try to find a mechanic.
I was finally able to make it to the other side of the highway from the emergency area as cars flew past us at over 70 miles per hour. It was a frightening experience! The car’s front end literally bounced as I creped along the side of the highway. As I drove, Michelle continued singing and praising God, to my dismay. Then, all of a sudden, the car began rolling normally, slowly but normally, all the way back to town and the mechanic garage. After waiting for about an hour, the mechanic’s approached me, scratching his head while looking totally perplexed. He said, “I don’t know how you got back here. There were no ball bearings in the wheel. If you had driven another hundred feet or so the wheel would have welded itself right to the axel. You were extremely lucky. I am only going to charge you twenty bucks for the repair.” I couldn’t believe it as I looked back toward my wife smiling and continuing to sing and praise the Lord. I knew on that day God had his hand on us and that it wasn’t just luck. Once we returned home, I asked Jesus to come into my life as Savior, and lived fervently for Him, yet with.one foot in the world by continuing to smoke marijuana.
Several years later, I began to lose the zeal in which I once served God, resorting to my secular, selfish ways of alcohol and drug addiction. After being given numerous chances to change, Michelle left with our 2-year-old daughter Genevieve to Canada, along with her mother. Losing my Christian wife and daughter destroyed me inside. My life felt empty without them. So, I drove all the way to Canada in my 69 VW bus looking for them, but to no avail. A few years later I went to prison for 6 years, paroled, stayed out for eight years, and then shot and murdered my dear friend during a week-long sleep deprived meth and alcohol related psychosis. As a result of these actions, I was sentenced to Life-With-Out-Parole plus 30 years. Today, I continue .to grieve the devastation I have caused the family and friends of my victim. Today it is still hard for me to believe that I murdered an innocent human being! Shortly after arriving in prison, I realized I needed to change from the piece of garbage I had become into the father, son, and brother that my children and family had once loved and respected, so I got to work.
I wasn’t entirely sure I was saved, so I got down on my knees and asked Jesus to come into my life as Savior. Once arriving in Lancaster State Prison, I joined the church of Emmanuel. As a member of the Church and through my relationship with God, I learned a lot about my identity in Christ, and my calling to go forth and save the lost. And while I have only led a few people to Christ while in Lancaster State Prison, I continue sharing the joy that I receive every day while serving Him. I am so in love with God that I wouldn’t trade my relationship with Him for anything, including my freedom. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord all the days of our life.
Today, I continue serving God with all my heart, soul, and strength. As a result, He has delivered me from a 28-year addiction to drugs and alcohol. On May 20, 2019, I will have 14-years sobriety! And while my adult daughter and three adult sons’ no longer write to me, and my family continues to keep me at arm’s length, I continue praising Him and thanking Him for the amazing things He does in their life and my own.
I currently attended Sunday Protestant Service with Claudia and Dr. Timothy Emerick. I am learning everyday how to walk with my Savior and Lord Jesus! Thank you for taking the time to read my testimony. If you haven’t received Christ, please do. You’ll experience un- surpassed joy.

I Reyes 18:30.

I Jn. 2: 15-17.

Debemos aprender a controlar nuestros cuerpos. No aman a Dios.
